Once upon a time, there was a litttle girl who loved school and dreamed about becoming a successful author....

I have been writing ever since I can remember being able to hold a pen. I had my first work published whilst still at infant school - if you can count winning a school Hallowe'en competition and having the finished story posted on the school's notice board.

After school and A-Levels, I studied at Edge Hill University (then College), and in 1993 I graduated from Lancaster University with a BA (Hons) degree in History & Modern European Literature and Culture.

I then ventured into the real world and worked as a Bakery Assistant, and then a technical clerk at Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council, before one day realising that I was simply existing rather than living my dream. Following a serious operation, I enrolled in a Home Study Course run by Writers' News Magazine and once more took up my pen.

With that epiphany, I took a year out and concentrated on building up my confidence in my work again. I won a couple of short story competitions in writing magazines and decided that I could do it. I often have to apply the BOCHOK method (Bum On Chair Hands On Keyboard), especially when the sun is shining and I really want to be out and about instead of sitting at my desk. However, there is nothing else I would rather be doing, than creating a world of fiction.

My ultimate dream is to one day be published by Mills & Boon. Until then, I have a part time job that allows me to spend most of my time writing. My main focus is romance and erotic fiction, but I go pretty much where my imagination takes me. I have just ventured into the realm of Ebooks and have so far published 3 books on www.smashwords.com.
